I was born in 1966. So I do not remember the very early japanese cars. And I grew up in a village. No one had a sports car there. Only tractors.

Helmut,

the only freaky japanese coup� I can remember is this one:

no opera windows, but nice circular rear lights.

Claus and especially Nojimasa,

These Honda S 800 you can see in a lovely motormuseum near the N�rburgring in the smal village Jammelshofen in a valley about 5 Km east of the "Ring". The owner Erpelding was Honda-dealer in Cologne and had them for long-range-racing ! He likes to remember when all laught when he came for the 24 H and even 36 H Races ! 24 H first : This 12.000 rpm-car never will hold for 24 H and ...... THEY DID !!

But claus do you remember sitting in this car ! Gettin' in OK, but once in troubles to get out -small as a shoe !!

I think we have to close this here and switch over to a new theme - japanese Oldie-cars !

Dear Helmut,

the layout of the Honda S-Types are similar to british roadsters like Austin Healey Sprite oder MG Midget, Berkely or coup�s like a TVR. They are comparable in room and inner space. The Honda is more sophisticated seen from the technical point of view.

Dear Henning,

the Honda S800 as first japanese car on the german market is a very rare vehicle. I think most of them dissapeared until 1975. I remember some of those cars seen in Saarbr�cken in the late 60ies and early 70ies.

Congratulations!

It seems to be difficult to buy a Citro�n in Japan. Difficult but not impossible - fortunately

I hope the car will reach japan without damages caused by raving sea or drunken sailors. Some weeks ago I saw a TV documentation concerning the export of used cars to africa. Oh lord! None of those guys who stored the cars in the ship should take place behind the steering wheel of your new car, never!
